Summer is here! And for some students, that means the reality of heading into summer school. But despite the beckoning warm weather and squeezed budgets, administrators and parents alike are emphasizing summer school as means for keeping students on track for the upcoming school year.
In the Detroit metro area, thousands of students are expected to enroll in summer school programs to supplement their learning and get a leg up on their classmates for the fall. And although desperate financial times have called for desperate measures, all have agreed that eliminating or reducing summer school is incomprehensible.

Given all of the advantages of summer school, how do you feel the program works in your local school community? Share your thoughts on our blog.
