Did you know that you can save your school thousands of dollars a year by simply choosing an ink-friendly font?!?  A Wisconsin University did this by making a small change in their computer habits.  According to a survey done by Printer.com, different fonts require different amounts of ink to print, thus you could be buying new printer cartridges less often.

What’s the downfall?!?  While using less ink represents an easy way for officials at every level of education to tighten their fiscal belts while schools budgets decline, it’s not necessarily better for the environment.  Each font, although more ink-friendly, will consume more paper when printing because the font is wider.  Ink comprises the main cost of a printout, but the environmental costs of paper are unfortunately higher.

How can your school save money, ink, and paper?!? Our staff at School Announcement says “Go Green, Don’t print at all!!!”
