Hit Your Reset Button
While we can’t undo the past, we can take advantage of professional “do overs,” or “Reset Buttons.” These articles can help you move upward and onward:
• “Hitting the Reset Button": A (free) White Paper on Taking Control of Your Classroom,” by Lauren Maynard
•"Press the Reset Button,” by Rick Ackerly. Though Ackerly wrote this as a New Year’s piece, his message applies to teachers who intend to do the next school year differently.

Another School Year Comes to a Close
Helpful Summer Info for the Busy Education Pro
Dear School Pro,
In region after region of our readership, school doors are closing on another year. Congratulations to all teachers and administrators in our School Pro Quick Tips community who are enjoying the sweet smell of accomplishment as they open themselves to summer’s possibilities – bring it on!
For some teachers this time may be bittersweet; there’s happiness at having made some great learning connections with students, and relief to partake in a much deserved break – even if that break includes a summer job. For others (especially some first year teachers), there may be disappointment over the kids they couldn’t reach no matter how hard they tried.
This issue of School Pro Quick Tips piggybacks on that sage advice with the theme: “Reflect! Reset! Reward Yourself!” You’ll find links to sites featuring questions that will help you to mine the lessons you learned this year, and create a vision for the school year to come. Then read on for links that can guide you in wiping the proverbial slate clean – aka hitting your “reset button.” We wrap up with ways you can reward yourself, both large scale and small.
It all begins with a special School Announcement update about some exciting changes we made to our communications system thanks to input from teachers and administrators like you. Be sure to contact me if you have any questions about our reliable, user-friendly messaging system for everyday announcements and school or district emergencies. I’m here to help!
Wishing you a wonderful summer,
Nina Russo
